Polyaspartic specifically resists UV yellowing, which matters for any coating exposed to sunlight, while standard epoxy is prone to yellowing and fading over time. Polyurea has been measured at up to five times the durability of standard epoxy against chemicals, abrasion, and impact.
None of this makes one system universally "better": epoxy remains cost-effective for indoor spaces without UV exposure, while polyurea and polyaspartic justify their higher price, roughly $7 to $12 per square foot for polyurea, for garages and outdoor-adjacent spaces where UV resistance and durability matter more. A common and genuinely strong combination is an epoxy basecoat (which bonds well to prepared concrete) with a polyaspartic topcoat (which adds UV and scratch resistance). That price difference is also part of why this trade's lead economics look favorable against typical job values.
Longevity as a differentiator worth stating plainly
A properly installed polyurea-polyaspartic system can last 20 years or more, well beyond the typical 5-to-10-year lifespan of a standard epoxy coating. That's a concrete, verifiable claim a contractor can put directly on a service page, rather than vague language about "premium" or "professional-grade" coatings that means nothing specific to a customer trying to compare options.
